BRIEF BIOGRAPHY:

Richard Zippel received S.B. S.M and Ph.D. degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. From 1980 till 1986 he was on the faculty of the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department at MIT, first as an Assistant Professor and then as an Associate Professor. From 1986 till 1988 he was a Technical Director at Symbolics, Inc. In 1988 he joined the Computer Science Department at Cornell University as a Senior Research Associate.
